Is there an America in the End Times?

This is assuredly one of the most debated topics among Christians since America began in 1776. Many have speculated over the centuries, without ever a clear consensus. Undoubtedly, there has never been a nation quite like ours in all of world history. But to the dismay of many American Christians, nowhere in the Holy Scriptures is there any clear reference to this land or its peoples.
There have been two notable theories about America put forth over the years with regard to certain Biblical passages, i.e., the land of Tarshish & the isles, and as the great whore Babylon. Neither of which have solid evidence or foundation. So, rather than guess about what we don't know, let's build upon what we do know...

a) The Mount Olivet discourse and prophecy by Yashua in Matt 24, Mark 13 & Luke 21 clearly state the beginning of travails upon the earth will start before a generation passes after the budding & blooming of the fig tree (Israel). A generation in Hebrew can be 40, 60, 80 or 120 years. In 1948, Israel became a nation. In 1967, Jerusalem was retaken as her capitol (budding & blooming, Spring & Summer) .
Most "experts" surmise this global economic meltdown began sometime in 2007, so subtract 40 years...1967.
Climatologists have documented a four-fold increase in global natural disasters over the last 20 years with even more predicted based on futuristic computer models. Signs in the heavens are to be more evident in the coming years with unprecedented planetary alignments and stellar anomalies.

b) If America isn't mentioned clearly in Scripture, does that mean she won't exist or doesn't really figure into End Times prophecy? Probably so. The Americas (north, south & central) can arguably be considered daughters of the old Roman Empire. The vast majority of Americans originally came from Europe, even though we claim independence and sovereignty. That has mattered little over the centuries as our laws, commerce, socialization and most everything else came from, or are still tied in with Europe & the old Roman Empire. European nations have always retained ownership in the Americas, moreso than any other continent. Statistics are hard to come by since private ownership is kept private through a variety of methods, but it could be safely stated that European ownership of all US land, treasuries, stocks and companies exceeds 13%. (Ref: Congressional Report, Foreign Ownership of US Financial Assets, Jan 2008) This far outweighs any other foreign countries' US holdings, even though Japan & China carry more of our national debt. When the United States defaults, you can rest assured we will seek deference & protection with the European Union, not Japan or China nor anyone else. (Besides, America has taken more than a few steps toward this contingency, just research the "Amero".)

c) The United States of America is fiscally bankrupt & insolvent; it's just a matter of when the life support gives out, or the plug gets pulled. Counting ALL US debt & liabilites (inc. unfunded), our indebtedness is estimated somewhere between $65-70TRILLION !!!. This figure is more than the GNP of the world, and grows daily! No nation can sustain such a burden, collapse is imminent. Not if, but when...

d) America's armor is cracking, rusting & disintegrating unlike we've ever seen or imagined. Many say our current state is not as bad as the Great Depression, but that depends on who you ask or who is suffering. Individuals, families, communities, cities, counties, states & federal entities are glibly taking it on the chin as they draw down from financial calamity.
Our moral, social, educational & political structures have been in a state of decline for decades, and are sinking to new depths of depravity on every level, day by day.

e) I, along with many Believers in Yashua, ascribe America's past success to our Biblical evangelical heritage, and ardent support of Israel. If America has had any great role at all in God's Plan, it was our part in bringing about Israel's existence and sustainability. American believers were instrumental to the establishment of the Jewish state, and ensured we were their prime ally. But, this is no longer the case.
Jimmy Carter, our 39th President who claims to be Christian, set in motion a middle East scenario which has carried forward to this day with great consequence. His successor, Ronald Reagan, our last truly great president and true Believer, was also the last US president who fully supported a united & sovereign Israel. Every US president since has put Israel at risk through compromise, pushed for giving up land and/or dividing Jerusalem. Our current President has designs to alienate our relationship with Israel to even greater extreme.
We might as well hang a death wreath on our door...
Furthermore, in the End Times, Scripture says Israel will face her enemies ALONE so that they will see the glory of YHVH, Yashua at work and know He is their Mashiach & Savior. This doesn't bode well for America as she turns her back on Israel, becomes part of revived Roman Empire and now a foe.

As a nation, we may as well be the Great Whore Babylon of Revelation 17 & 18. As a nation, we have also forgotten our first love, as did the church of Ephesus: "However, I have this against you: You have abandoned the love you had at first. Therefore, remember how far you have fallen. Repent, and do the works you did at first. If you don't, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent." Rev 2:4-5
We may also compare ourselves to Hosea's wife, who also depicted the whoredom of Israel:
"Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts; Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst. And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms. For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink." (wealth & pleasure) Hos 2:2-5
"By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood touches blood. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwells therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yes, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away...My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame. They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity. And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings. For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit prostitution, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD." Hos 4:2-3, 6-10

Finally, no matter if God's Word holds America within its pages or not, we have done exactly what all fallen empires have done before, and will suffer the same results. It WILL take a miracle of YHVH to save America, but only if she repents. This is highly unlikely...America has chosen her idols & gods, and they are not YHVH.
This is not to say YHVH will not bless and keep watch over His children here, even in the midst of national calamity. Just as He did, and has done with Israel for thousands of years, in captivity & dispersed around the world. Thus, even as Believers in Yashua, we should not, cannot, be so arrogant to think we will escape persecution, deprivation, or tragedy.
In a nutshell, PRAY for the best, but
prepare for the worst...
